Fatass724 , There is more racism now than when I was thirteen 52 years ago,we had segregation but people respected each other and there was no race in R&R. I think that a lot of the hate and bitterness today comes from politicians pitting one race or class against the other for votes. Even Parents can make their children hate each other by making differences between them. I too look forward the day when we are no longer judge by the color of our skin.
  2. Coyle Says:
hey you know you're right, elvis is legendary and im not comparing him to jackie or other artists so i dont know what you mean by him winning. i just have more respect for artists that are innovative and create their own style.
  3. CAMEO Says:
Elvis stole black music and white people made him popular and claim him the greatest, black music was alywas popular but white racism held it back. Remember when they would put white people on the cover of black peoples album cover or when they would still the exact song market it to whites like they created it.
  4. Bethsheba Says:
srry i put mark as spam dont get mad! plz?
  5. BURTON Says:
elvis helped to bring black music to the forefront.thank God for that...elvis and jackie wilson were good friends and elvis often attended jackie's shows for support.
  6. Ares Says:
eritreangurrl Elvis never appeared on American Bandstand , they couldn't afford him. The votes are already in Elvis wins by a landlide
  7. Nann Says:
eritreangurrl , Just not black enough for you.
  8. Marie-Joie Says:
diamepiece, sorry there is no longer a Black or White community especially in music, integration remember? one raced , the human race. All of those singers that you mention were great in their own right.I am fan of each. Elvis did more than so called "Black Music" He was great in every kind of Music . my favorite is Elvis Country. I am glad that you have the music that you like. How about Calipso, my favorite in the 50,s was Harry Belefonte he was a great singer Bye , enjoy your music
  9. MASICHUVIO Says:
id have to agree with you on elvis, he's a bit overrated, but i got respect for the guy. and yes he did take things from other artists, in james brown's autobiography, james said that he thinks elvis took some of his ideas and steps, but james doesnt have any hard feelings against him.
  10. Sara Says:
why did popular afro-american music use to be so classy and soulful and why is it so awful and hopelessly retarded these days? Do the people in general get dumber? Why is the terrible shit that's on the radio today so popular? What the fuck is wrong with this world?
  11. Moncha Says:
Elvis an jacie where best friends. I like both of them. Lets stop arguing boith of them are great and greatest
  12. Richman Says:
It's YOUR opinion, but Elvis is not acknowledged at a high level in the black community. He was talented yes, but most of us know he stole black artist's style. I'd put Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, Little Richard, Jackie Wilson, and James Brown way above Elvis. Elvis known to be the greatest is very redunant and untrue. Just my opinion.
  13. Emunah Says:
diamepiece, What is White Entertainment? I was a teenager in the fifties , I listened to as many black artist as white. In 1956 Black artist were all over white radio and selling records to white people even in the deep south.Elvis brought great music to people who never would have heard it without him Music does not have race. Elvis is the greatest singer of all time because he loved and sang all kinds of music like no one else
  14. Osana Says:
zeplinM1, Dont be cruel was allready a smash hit when Elvis saw him in vegas. It is all recorded on the Million Dollar Quartet CD Jam session with Cash Perkins and Lewis. Go listen
  15. Boudicea Says:

  16. Lorilee Says:
Middy, you've right they both are grat singers. Love this song.
  17. DARWISHI Says:
Greatest singer of all time? Jackie clearly sings better than him and much more male artist, need I go on? I don't know, I guess in white entertainment Elvis is great, but not to me. He was a decent performer and an average singer, who obviously tried to mostly mimic Jackie, but failed in my eyes. Whatever, y'all can have your overrated Elvis.
  18. Sagar Says:
rstar2008 , Thats OK because of them are black
  19. WEBER Says:
